I'm currently reading: This month I read: Septembers of Shiraz ( a wrenching tale of life in revolutionary Iran) , Water for Elephants (depression era circus life), Oil!, ( by Upton Sinclair , written in 1927, this book inspired the movie, "There Will Be Blood" with Daniel Day Lewis. A story of the American entrepreneurs who struck the first wells) . The Historian ( an historical fantasy about Dracula) and Widow of the South (a fictionalized history about a real woman who buried a battlefield of Cival War men). The last movie I watched was: No Country for Old Men in the theater and Bound for Glory at home. I'd love to visit: To tour the coast and mountains of Spain and Hungary. I'm curious about: : The world, international tastes, celebrations and family recipes. Favorite Music, Artists, Genres: Almost everything: standards, jazz, classic rock, folk, funk, Motown, soul, , classical, musicals, soundtracks, my son's alternative rock band. Favorite Books, Writers, Genres: Reading a good book is my favorite indulgence. I love a great descriptive story --historical fiction, contemporary short stories and oral histories are my favorite. Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres: Old Hollywood classics with snappy dialogue and glamorous settings, like The Women, It Happened One Night, & The Thin Man. Quirky comedies like Little Miss Sunshine and Amelie , which remind dreams can come true and family is everything. Favorite Places: Home-- and any place I can visit that has great sites and delicious food. Wish List: To speak Spanish, tell a funny joke without messing up the gag line and to write a book about my mother.
